André Sornay, cabinetmaker and designer from Lyon, was also an inventor. In the 1950s, he patented the so-called "tigettes" assembly system, which he used on many furniture such as this table.

This dining table features square solid pine side legs that support an ivory-colored melamine top with edges painted black.

When paired with chairs by the same designer, it creates a harmonious and inviting ensemble.
