Wall mirror in glazed earthenware made by Les Quatre Potiers in their Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye workshop around 1965. The square frame with rounded corners features a thick border hand-painted with small stylized red, blue and green flowers on a creamy white glaze.
This naive, rhythmic pattern, painted freely by hand, embodies the poetic and popular spirit of the collective founded in 1956, which revived traditional Nivernais pottery through a modern, heartfelt approach. Balancing decorative art and craft, this mirror captures the warm simplicity of French postwar design.
France, Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye, circa 1965.
