Sculptural anthropomorphic lamp by Albert Tormos, carved in cream Gard stone, circa 1974.
In the 1970s, Albert Tormos developed a singular sculptural language around Gard stone, which he patiently hand-carved to reveal its raw, primitive strength. His lamps, balanced between sculpture and function, evoke archaic presences filled with quiet spirituality.
This model features a single light source at the top of the head, casting a gentle glow that enhances the stone's contours and texture. The illumination seems to animate the material itself, giving the figure an almost ritual and meditative presence.
