Sold

Indoor or outdoor wire basket-shaped armchairs, the seats have been completely restored.

Original armchairs designed by Jean-Louis Bonnant. They were to be seen in Jacques Tati's classic and first colour film: "Mon oncle" (My uncle, 1958), a quasi caricature of the 1950s modern home. Jacques Tati, in line with French traditionalists, saw the 1950s design as soulless and impractical. The film is a satire of the very modern life style of the Arpel's family.

Later in time (late 1960s), these armchairs were found in Cansado, Mauritania, the mining town, decorated by Charlotte Perriand.
