Two-part marble sculpture by Robert Neuhauser, Switzerland 1980s
REF: 7935
A unique piece : two-part marble sculpture by Robert Neuhauser, created in Switzerland in the mid-1980s.
Composed of two solid rounded volumes, the piece is structured by an irregular central fracture separating the two blocks. This opening creates a tension between the forms and highlights the contrast between polished surfaces and the raw break, revealing the material in its original state.
The light-toned, subtly veined marble captures light and enhances the softness of the volumes. The composition reflects an organic and almost architectural vocabulary, characteristic of the artist's exploration of form and balance.
This work belongs to the group of stone sculptures developed by Neuhauser in the late 1980s, notably presented at the exhibition Arbeiten in Stein at Galerie Sigristenkeller in Bülach in 1989.
