Solid oak cabinet with Perriand drawers, circa 1950
REF: 7102
A unique piece, this cabinet embodies the vision of an architect deeply influenced by the modernist vocabulary of Jean Prouvé and Charlotte Perriand.
Crafted in solid oak, it features four sliding doors and two front drawers with sculptural, airplane wing-shaped handles. The panels are finished in textured black and grey laminate, lending the piece a distinctly modern and graphic character.
On the right side, behind the doors, a series of molded plastic drawers is revealed, an early, unsigned version of Charlotte Perriand's iconic design. The influence is unmistakable: a refined balance of functionality, modularity, and a subtle, harmonious palette.
Most likely created for a bespoke architectural commission, this cabinet stands as a testament to the seamless dialogue between architecture and furniture design. We fell instantly in love with its presence and integrity.
