A very large dish by the French ceramist and sculptor Pol Chambost, one of the leading ceramic artists in 20th-century France, whose influence was significant in the 1950s and who subsequently trained numerous talents.
This wide leaf-shaped piece, crafted from white clay with a black, metallic-reflective glaze on the exterior and a milky white interior, represents a rare example of the artist's work from the 1950s, distinguished by its exceptional size.
It bears the marking "25" and "Made in France" on the reverse.
