Four-legged Massue in solid pine by Charlotte Perriand, France, 1970s.
Usually made with three legs, this one-of-a-kind version was custom-made for a client.
The thick circular seat rests on slightly splayed cylindrical legs, giving the piece great stability. The warm honey-toned patina highlights the natural grain of the wood, reflecting the honest, functional aesthetic characteristic of Alpine and modernist interiors from the 1970s.
Shows light wear consistent with age and use.
