Model C140 armchair, known as the Playboy chair, designed by Jens Risom around 1960 and produced by Risom Manufacturing Corp., North Grosvenordale, Connecticut.

The frame is crafted in solid teak with clean architectural lines, featuring straight slightly angled armrests and well-defined legs. The seat and back are padded with urethane foam, as indicated on the original label, and upholstered in black leather. The proportions are balanced and the design remains functional and restrained, characteristic of Jens Risom's American modernist production of the early 1960s.

The original label preserved underneath the seat reads "Jens Risom Design" and "Made by Risom Manufacturing Corp., North Grosvenordale, Conn.", confirming period American production.
