Lino Sabattini (1925 - 2016)
Sabattini was born in Correggio in 1925. His passion started at an early age. At the age of 14 he found a copy of the review Domus, which became his reference book. He learned the basics of metal working techniques in a silversmith's workshop in Como. He then met Rolando Hettner, a famous artist and potter who was of great inspiration to Sabbatini and made him start researching his style.
After the war, he moved to Milan and was discovered by Gio Ponti. This was the beginning of a New Era with a series of international experiences and prestigious collaborations from Milan to Paris.
He then created the Argenteria Sabattini of Bregnano (Como), His style is a symbol of restraint, balance, technique and imagination.
