Girofla

One signature, two French artists.

Girofla, Eliane and Monique (Cloutier, both wives of the Cloutier Brothers, the famous French ceramists), graduated from l' Ecole des Arts Appliqués de Paris (Paris Applied Art School) and have been working together since their graduation. They started in publishing, they created patterns and worked with the most prestigious brands such as Van Cleef and Arpels, Hallmark, Hermès...They quickly decided to open their own atelier for the creation and distribution of decorative objects : dolls, paint on silk as well as fashion accessories.

With their poetic and bright universe, they met success especially in the 70s, and were exhibited in galleries and stores around the world. A lifelong collaboration, their works are still regularly showcased, for example at Benoit Guyot in Lyon, France.
