The Mante Religieuse floor lamp, model n°14.950, designed in 1950 by the design office of the RISPAL company, is an icon of French design from the 1950s. This is an original edition.

Its curved wooden structure, evoking the graceful posture of the eponymous insect, rests on a slender tripod base. The spherical lampshade made of pleated cellulose acetate (rhodoid) emits a soft and warm light, creating a cozy atmosphere.

First presented in 1952 at the 36th Salon des Artistes Décorateurs in Paris, the Mante Religieuse exemplifies the perfect balance between functionality and organic aesthetics, characteristic of the modernist movement of the time. Today, this emblematic piece remains highly sought after by collectors and vintage design enthusiasts, reflecting French innovation and craftsmanship.
