Douglas Swan is an American painter born in 1930. He immersed himself in art at the Dundee College of Art in Scotland and later in London. Subsequently, he developed a keen interest in the Italian contemporary art scene, exploring the works of artists like Lucio Fontana, Enrico Castellani, and Roberto Crippa. Settling in Switzerland in the 1960s, he became a significant figure of the 20th century, exhibiting regularly.
The presented artwork is representative of the artist's work in the 1970s, as showcased at the Reckermann Gallery in Cologne in 1972.
